The “slippery slope” and “Domino Theory” are terms well understood by anyone over 50 years of age. However, it is a concept that seems to be lost on the more “enlightened” members of our society (liberals).
Once again, in true anti-God and anti-life fashion, those who support abortion think it perfectly acceptable to extend the procedure to those that are already living.
On another front of the culture war, We’re Mad as Hell looks at the immoral bailout that affects the inheritance God commands us to leave our children.

I’m over 50. What I remember is that the Domino Theory was a lie told by warmongers to justify the Vietnam War, which turned out after we had abandoned the country to be totally false, and that ’slippery slope’ arguments are unsound and logically fallacious.
It might be interesting to discuss this, except that I can’t figure out exactly why you conclude that liberals all agree it is “perfectly acceptable” to kill poor Sarah because of a tasteless joke left by a graffiti artist. If you think this goes beyond ’sick joke’ to genuine threat, I assume you’ve notified the Secret Service?
I very much appreciated the irony of reading the “false witness” in this post on a day when the verse of the day exhorts us to “walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us”.
Crow,
Being over 50 myself and having served in a number of different global hot spots, I’m somewhat shocked by your assertion that the Domino Theory proved fact was flawed.
-First, after the US pullout, Viet Nam fell to the Communists in 1975;
-After the fall of Saigon, then came the Killing Fields of Cambodia;
-In the same year Saigon fell, Laos went Communist
Am I missing something here?
As for the analogous positing on abortion, I’m not arguing beyond what we’ve already experienced since the 1972 decision in Roe v. Wade
The point is this, once Blackmon “invented” the “right” to abortion amongst the “penumbra and emanations of the US Constitution, we’ve watched a downward spiral in the basic respect for life in America. Hillary’s aberrant health care plan included denial of life-saving services if future tax revenue received post-medical treatment was insufficient for the Clintonian US Government. Killing Sarah is only the logical conclusion to what we’re already seeing in place and discussed publicly: Deliberate death of the child if born alive during an abortion and the discussion of ending a child’s life up to 2 years of age post-live birth. This has NOTHING TO DO with a graffiti artist, but everything to do with the radical abortion position staked out by liberals e.g., Obama. Moreover, the deliberate destruction of the disabled has floated around for the last 3-5 years in liberal circles (why does the word untermenschen come to mind?).
You might find irony in something that is not ironic in the least. Considering that your historical recollection is flawed, as well as your contemporary knowledge of the abortion position staked-out by the liberals in the US, this is not surprising.
Yes, I consider liberal Democratic thinking anathema to Christianity and the holder’s of such positions as positively incoherent. The latest assertion is that the Republican Party is the party of slavery. Really? What party was responsible for Jim Crow laws in the South? Democrats. What is a yellow-dog Democrat? In the old days it was based on the opposition to the Party of Lincoln (the Republicans). I think a contemporary meaning might be more akin to “opposition to any limit on the Holy Grail of abortion.”
Yes, you are missing something here. After the USA abandoned the field, several countries which already had active Communist/Maoist ‘freedom fighters’ did become communist. The Domino Theory, however, asserted that after this occurred, it would be followed by the next door neighboring country also becoming communist, and then the ones beyond that, and that certainly never happened. Instead, the obvious dysfunction of those governments discredited the entire theory and made socialism/communism unattractive and removed the romantic luster from other groups of communist/maoist rebels, undermining their support.
Your further claim that anybody who is not 100% opposed to all abortion under every circumstances must obviously want to kill toddlers is the kind of hysterical accusation that makes it very difficult to get any restrictions on abortions passed. It doesn’t seem to occur to you that since the majority of the people in this country think abortion should remain legal in at least some circumstances (ectopic pregnancy for instance, or incest/rape), you have accused most of the people in the country of hating babies, people who might have become your allies in legislating sensible incremental steps except that they are deeply insulted by such slander and now they won’t listen to anything else you might have to say.
The irony on which I was commenting was the juxtaposition of a scripture urging us to “walk in love” next to the assertion that all Democrats are urging Gov. Palin’s murder because they are Democrats and ipso facto evil and depraved. An accusation you repeat in your reply to my post by stating that you don’t think a Demcrat can also be a Christian. Personally, I’ve always wondered how the Republican can reconcile pre-emptive war with Christianity but I do not on that basis insist that they are ‘anathema’, just lacking in trust in the Lord.
Perhaps you think the scripture is restricted so that it is only necessary to attempt to “walk in love” with those who agree with you 100% on political and social issues, but certainly Jesus never made people pass a litmus test on hot button issues before He walked lovingly with them.
Crow,
I’ll respond to your comment more fully in a separate post. In the meantime, consider this:
You said: “Your further claim that anybody who is not 100% opposed to all abortion under every circumstances must obviously want to kill toddlers is the kind of hysterical accusation that makes it very difficult to get any restrictions on abortions passed.”
I’ve never asserted this. BUT, the pro-aborts HAVE asserted that abortion should extend post-birth. And, yes, some have asserted this parental “right” should extend up to the age of two years old!
I will say this: If any abortion supporter would agree to limit abortion to life-threatening situations, then we would have a starting point to begin a dialogue. Unfortunately, abortion supporters use the most EXTREME examples to justify abortion on demand. That is NOT dialogue, that is histrionics.
Abortion is wrong in ALL situations outside of saving the mother’s life — PERIOD — and to consider extending “abortion” beyond birth is too sick to even wrap one’s mind around.
Abortion is a moral evil that is directly linked to American society’s lack of respect for life in general and, yes, there IS a slippery slope that was “invented” by Justice Blackmon in 1972. His contortions and twisting of the US Constitution is an aberration and the blackest mark on American jurisprudence. Every other “bad” ruling pales in comparison to Blackmon’s.
